I was invited to attend the open court for Doctoral degree (actually, I don’t know how to say “sidang terbuka” in English, so please forgive me for using ‘open court’ =D). It was in FT building (Labtek 6, ITB).
It was the verification about your dissertation and how you prove and also defend your research. That day, the S3 student who wanted to get the doctoral degree was said that his research accepted and he very-well graduated as doctor from School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics ITB. He took this program for 5 years.
Inspired moment, it was. Especially, when the promotor gave her speech for the ‘new’ doctor. She said :
Biomedical Engineering is the knowledge that combined the science, engineering, and also medical aspects. That kind of knowledge is like the double-edged knife. It will produce good results when in the hand of good people. But also will produce bad results and harm people when in the hand of bad people. As you can see, we, the team of promotor don’t want you just quit from this research. You should develop it and always study to get better knowledge so you can help people.
But the most inspiring quote that I heard was :
It will be hard though. Yes, it will. But you will have to remember, that there will be no rainbow without rain, and there will be no victory without pain.
It was really made me thinking and gazing. Yes it’s true. Really is. And it made me more motivated than before.
I just have to believe that,
there will be no rainbow without rain, and there will be no victory without pain.
Well, something worth having is something worth to be championed. Struggled. Sometimes worth waiting too.
